Races and marathons are usually scheduled on the wee hours of the morning with the latest starting at past six for short races. But who says runs are just for early risers? The Kislap Butil Night Race organized by University of Sto. Tomas will start at around six in the evening this coming Sunday, the 23rd. This will be an interesting change in the usual morning run. I wonder how I would fare. I'd be coming along with my colleagues who were with me during my first run but another one would also join us. Hehe another recruit in the running craze. Non of us are Thomasians by the way, but it's a good thing they opened this to the public.
We'll be getting our singlets probably this Thursday and I am already excited to try it on. It looks nice in the pictures, black and green for the 5K run (that's my event) and white and green for the 3K run. I wonder if the green part is the kind that glows in the dark. Now that's cute! The race kit also includes glow in the dark ballers and glowsticks. No timing chips though, so I got to take note of the time I start running so I'll know if I will beat my record for the Milo run. It's not much of a record but we all start somewhere. We were informed that there will also be a mini concert after the run. Interesting...but I don't know if we will stay around for that. Well, maybe a little peek to see who's performing.
This run aims to raise funds to help send kids to school. I believe that's a good cause, so we joined this event. If you're interested in joining races, you can find a comprehensive list of upcoming events at Takbo.ph.
I just pray that the weather will be good this coming Sunday, particularly in the evening as I am not quite excited to run in the rain at night time. That could be a rather chilly experience. Well, let's just hope for the best.
