No, I did not make a mistake in the title. I'd much rather call it funny than anything else. I'll explain...
I got to say, in the four fun runs that I've joined so far, yesterday's run stood out somehow. It wasn't an extraordinary run by the way. The reason for it standing out from the rest is that a lot of runners got lost in the routes lol! That's because the race organizers had few marshals deployed in critical locations and there were no signs either. I was already thinking if I was one of the declared placers, I wouldn't accept the award because there was no certainty that I ran the right distance. But, gauging from my previous runs, I would say I ran more than five kilometers. I did extra turns along the route, and I would have probably ran longer if I had not explained to one of the marshals who was thankfully in her place, that I already ran the route she was pointing out to me.
Gaahhhhh....my throat was already parched because I passed off the only water station I chance upon. There were too many runners there and if I stop to have a drink, I might not be able to run anymore hehehe. My legs tend to cramp up when I stop running, so when I am too tired to run, I do very brisk walking to prevent leg cramps. So, I cannot afford to stop for so long at the water station. Otherwise, I won't be able to finish the race.

So anyway, that was annoying in that aspect but I just shrugged it off and we even laughed about it. What did they expect, I wonder? Tire us all out running around CCP Complex in unending circles? I just took it as Day 1 of practice for the Milo Marathon finals next month, on December 9 to be exact. Hey, if you'd like to join that, registrations are still open. I could guarantee you that the Milo Run is very well organized, being handled by Runrio. So, no funny things like this one.
And what's a race without the souvenir shots? I'd just like to share some pictures after the race. There were no pictures before the race started because at five in the morning, it is still too dark to take decent photos. The pictures by the plant box are my favorite. I looked like I just took a walk in the park instead of having just ran more than five kilometers. What do you think?

I hope to see some of you in future runs!

Looks like fun nga po! :)
ReplyDeleteFun,funny, what's the difference! As long as you gained something out of it, di ba?
ReplyDeleteNot entirely...being lost in a route because organizers missed out on an important aspect of giving directions is hardly fun. If it was just my fault, now that would be funny.
ReplyDeleteI actually put the word "funny" there in a rather sarcastic tone but I guess it didn't come out right lol! Just looking on the bright side na lang nga, this is for a good cause and I was able to exercise nevertheless
ReplyDeleteI might run on dec 9th. It is my daughter's birthday and I plan on celebrating it differently. The problem is she is looking forward to the treat after the fun run. Hmmm. I might just change my mind. Lol!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for another successful run Aileen.
ReplyDelete3rd round ComEx 11/6 (www.xyexyrus.com) hehe
Disappointing much ang organizers, but as long as you had fun. In case you got lost, you should have just made baligtad your clothes hehe. Seriously, though, sis, inspirasyon kita!!!I am seriously rethinking my fitness goals, and to be fit as you is one of them.
ReplyDeletelooks like you had fun talaga and congrats..
ReplyDeleteGreat that you manage to complete another race
ReplyDeletecongrats for another round of run
ReplyDeleteYou look fit to me sis. And it doesn't hurt that you live where the air is fresher, what with all those pine trees :-)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, well, it's not unusual to ask for a treat after the run. Last Milo Run, there is a breakfast buffet so you might want to treat her there. I hope it's still there because my friends and I plan to have breakfast there after lunch. If I'm not mistaken, it's no more than 150 pesos. Pwede na di ba? It's just on the side, some walking distance to the starting line of 3 and 5K runs. Who knows, we might finally bump into each other :-)
ReplyDeleteOh at least natapos mo sis. hehe..
ReplyDeleteMommy Maye
Good luck to your Dec 9 run....
ReplyDeleteNo, I totally got the tone LOL. I think you're taking the craziness lightly. No matter how bad things turn, dapat positive pa rin tayo or at least try to put a positive spin to it.
ReplyDeleteRunning is something I have not done yet! I should, I know. Or at least start with walking, then brisk walking, then jogging and running. LOL I hope someday! :D
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had fun! As long as your with your friends there's no moment of laughter with them :)
ReplyDeletewww.itsmedeann.com
I guess the run being funny gave you some abdominal exercises as well. :-)
ReplyDeleteNever mind the unorganized organizers as long as you had a great time and your body profited from running, the run is considered worth it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the organizers made it that way. It's a FUN run anyway. they made fun of the runners. peace! hehe :)
ReplyDeleteYikes! you have to run extra distance just because you got lost na kasalan ng organizer kakapagod naman. hehe
ReplyDeleteI wish I had your dedication. Do you have running shoes that you can recommend?
ReplyDeleteHi Ditas! I'm using Adidas. You could also try other brands like Reebok, Nike, Skechers, etc. There are a lot of shoes to choose from. Don't go for the fancy ones muna if you're just a beginner. As long as it's a pair of running shoes and you're comfortable running in it, that would do, I think.
ReplyDeleteI was actually thinking while running...when do I stop? hehehe...It took a while before I spotted one of the marshals...and she wasn't even sure where to point me to...
ReplyDeleteExactly sis...mukhang na good time kami hahaha! Instead of race naging maze lol!
ReplyDeleteYup, ganon na lang nga, instead of sulking or doing an amalayer scene.
ReplyDeleteI wish...but instead of my belly, it was my right eyebrow that got some exercise...I needed a set of weights to keep it down lol!
ReplyDeleteOo...kala ko endless running eh hahaha!
ReplyDeleteyey. another fun run! :) one day i'll sign up for this. hihi
ReplyDeleteAileen,i think that is cecil dichoso with you on the photo. She is my college classmate and friend! Small world!
ReplyDeleteThis seems to be like an addicting activity recently for you :) I'm sure it's fun to be running around with friends!
ReplyDeleteI salute you! Walang pagud sa katatakbo.
ReplyDeleteHi Sanna! I just showed her your blog hahaha small world nga. She'll send you a message one of these days :-)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, there are times I'm lazy to run specially when the gun time is too early like before 5pm...but when you're there and you take the first steps, it seems like an auto reflex thing...you just keep on running until you see the finish line hehehe... We just target to at least have one fun run per month. :-)
ReplyDeleteSige...go!
ReplyDeleteits fun to run
ReplyDeleteThird post about running I've encountered for the day. Kakainggit naman kayo. Haha. Runners getting lost reminds me of a Mr. Bean episode. :P Funny nga.
ReplyDeleteWow! Another run again sis. I hope to run in the future. I MUST really invest in a good pair of kicks! :)
ReplyDeletenakakatawa na man ang fun run na ito hehe super fun..

ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how passionate you are with running and keeping a healthy lifestyle! I hope I'll get the same discipline. :)
ReplyDeleteOn the plus side, you burned more calories with the extra turns -JB
ReplyDeleteIt was a funny run nga! :) Anyways, good luck on your Milo Marathon.
ReplyDeletegetting healthy and enjoying what you're doing is a great combination and i read that from your posts. kudos to you.
ReplyDeleteRun Aileen, run! So proud of you sister. Keep it up as always.
ReplyDeleteCE 11/13
Sayang naman they weren't very organized. But I guess that also made the course extra challenging. Looking forward to your next race!
ReplyDeleteFUN RUNS, can't do it. I'm asthmatic. :) But, someday I will. :) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your Milo run! :D And, yeah, I don't you'd see any crowded water stations there.

ReplyDeleteLol! Di ko rin alam sinabi ko hahahah!
ReplyDeleteOo nga nay noh? Parang di lang nag race. Parang nag fashion show lang. Ang ganda. ♥ autograph please! :D
ReplyDeletewhat a funny experience! i hope i wont be able to experience it in the future, though i dont run for a place or something... =)
ReplyDeleteoh my, that was so tiring, i think you should bring your own water when you run... those little bottles that can be place as belts...
ReplyDeleteI thought at first that the run was about government issues hahaha!
