It's just 12 days from now and we'll be running our first organized run this year. We missed out on the January running events, probably because we needed some time to get back to form (What form? hehehe). Either that or we simply have the holidays hangover.
PhilHealth organized this nationwide run. This will be a simultaneous run on different parts of the country. We three gals will just be on the 5K category while the two guys opted for the 18K. Here's a snaphot of the tarpaulin ad:

The singlets are already out for distribution since last Saturday, February 02. You can still register, if you are interested to join this nationwide activity. And if you explore the PhilHealth official site, you'll see that this running activity is for various causes all around the country. Some of the beneficiaries are the Philippine Children's Medical Center, Helping Hands, Healing Hearts Ministry, DSWD, Hope Worldwide Philippines, Cancer Warriors Foundation, and a whole lot more.
Hope to see you there, running in one of this:

i was excited to open this post... kala ko you're running na for the 18k!!! hehehe :-) my running buddies here are going for the 18k this time... nabitin kasi kami sa 5k last year.... hehehe :D but i cant join them though... :-(
ReplyDeletewalang Bohol noh? Maliit lang kasi ata ang population sa Bohol at maliit din ang population ng mga interested. Never pa akong nakasali sa ganitong event but I wish ma experience ko din. Gusto kong masubok ang aking endurance kung meron man har!har!har!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Bohol is not included nga. I think Cebu is the nearest? Meron this coming April ---> http://www.takbo.ph/2012/11/50-50-sundown-ultra-marathon-2013/ But I think that is for ultramarathoners na hehehe
ReplyDeleteMylene, here's another one in Bohol, although August pa --> http://www.takbo.ph/2012/09/bohol-marathon-2013/ This one has a 5K event. :-)
ReplyDeleteCharm, 10K muna ko before I go for longer distances. I don't want to rush things.
ReplyDeleteYow ate! ;) I'm also joining this event sa area namin. Feb. 17 to diba? :) Yay! Excited ako. This is my first ever fun run. 3k nga lang in-applyan ko! Sana kayanin ko!!! ♥
ReplyDeleteMany in the hospital already leave early just so they can practice for the PhilHealth Run! I think there will be able 30+ runners from the hospital joining. Some will try out the 18K run.
ReplyDeleteIts so nice that it will be happening simultaneously in differet areas. Kelan kaya ako makakasali? Im also wondering 5k ba yung pinakamaliit na distance sa mga run?
ReplyDeleteThis year, the PhilHealth personnel also seem to have a stronger drive to invite participants... they may even have their own quotas (we think!) or group contest! In one day, the hospital was visited by two groups!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, Aileen :) I once saw a blind person joining such event that was shown in the tube. He had a guide running along with him. Inspiring kasi despite the absence of his eyesight, go pa rin sya with all the able-bodied surrounding him.

For doing something you love, you just don't have room for excuses no? If there's willingness, there are ways of doing it.
ReplyDeleteSayang nga, there are only 5 of us representing our company. I wish more would be interested to join in future runs.
ReplyDeleteSanna, usually may 3K run naman. And some do have even shorter distances, for the kids mostly, to get them interested in running siguro.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's on Feb. 17. Yey sabay tayo tumakbo.....dyan ka dito ako hahaha! You can do it...you've been practicing right?
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you. Fun run has been a trend nowadays. It is one way of raising funds by different agencies.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, nice design for the jerseys.
Knowing that we could help others through running is another wonderful benefit besides health-wise ones.
ReplyDeleteNice! I'm always in for these events. I'm also hearing this on Magic's ustream. Commendable effort Philhealth!
ReplyDeleteI asked my friend kanina if she want to join, kaso hindi daw sya pwede kc may occasion sa kanila, wala ako partner sayang. I think next time we'll definitely join. 3k muna for a start. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck sis. Maybe I could join some other time and I hope to see you. Hehe
ReplyDeleteMommy Maye

The cause was great and it's good to help others. I just hope that those who will join will also be mindful enough to keep their trash or place it in a proper area.
ReplyDeleteWow that's interesting, simultaneous running in events in different places. Good luck and hope you have fun!
ReplyDeleteCool! I like the the Ta-Run-A play on the words, Tara na! hehehe Enjoy!
ReplyDeletewhy am i not having the will to start exercising for this run? haaay!
ReplyDeleteThose stylish singlets will make a fashionista want to join in the running fun. I like the look of them. :-)
ReplyDeletehow was your Philhealth run??? i wasnt able to join this year because im in my 21st week... :D i hve friends who run the 18k here in zamboanga... which is a crazy trail i must say, there's a part where its mostly uphill!!! hehehe :D but it's a nice experience for them still... the only pangit about it is its a bit messy here, mejo gulo ng organizers.... and they started at 6am!!!! so imagine if you're the type who will finish 18k for 2hrs.... suuuper init na!
ReplyDeleteHi Charm! Will post an update later this week. It was okay but I have a few comments...medyo may magulong part nga hehehe...all runners converging on the same road kasi. Wow super late naman start ng 18 K kawawa sa init mga runners!
