Tribesports: Are You Ready for the Challenge?

Tribesports: Are you ready for the challenge?

Some months ago, I took the 200 Squats Challenge.  After one update, you have not heard me talking about it again until now, right?  Suffice to say that I failed miserably but I'm not taking it so hard.  It's a challenge I took and one that I had to give up after the 3rd week, when my knees are already screaming at me.  Doing squats is probably one of the best exercises there is, but for one who has injured her knees previously, taking that challenge was a bit of suicide, at least when it comes to my knees.

Well, there I was, resigned to the fact that I cannot finish that challenge and that I would never be able to put up that badge.  So what?  There's more to life than doing squats right? (Do I sound like I'm sour graping? lol). Well, truth of the matter is, there are other fitness challenges I could take.  It just took a while until I found out about Tribesports through Stumbleupon.

Curiosity got the better of me so I signed up.  After figuring things out for a while, I started looking up for challenges and wow!  They have tons of challenges for certified couch potatoes to the extremely sporty types.  You get to choose the challenges you like to take.  I suggest you start with the manageable ones before taking on the REAL challenges.

Tribesports encouraged this

I'd like to see you there.  It's really fun and the community is just awesome.  And just so you know, being fit is not only for the body.  They have a tribe of book lovers there as well.  Why, mental health is also part of fitness right?  And finding a community of like-minded people to encourage you might just be the kind of motivation you need to live healthier and become more fit and active.

  2. People these days are leaning towards a healthier lifestyle. With the myriad activities available, the fitness clubs burgeoning and the promotion of showbiz personalities to be fit, plus the determination and the discipline to start anew, I see a whole new Filipino this 2013 :D

  9. Hello A. I forgot that I already have a TribeSports account . Goodness I only remembered when I was trying to register and learned I already have one lol. I even have bronze medals in which I do not know where I got them. I just joined a new challenge named "No soda drinks for 4 weeks." No sweat, I could even dare a lot of people that I could bear not to have soda drinks for 6 months. Btw, I might join my first 5k run on March 17th at SM MoA for Unilab Run United. I will register this Sunday. Hope it is not too late.

  11. That sounds like real fun. Oh, I don't think I can do more than a couple of squats, though :)

  12. They have other challenges there aside from squats. Teehee...I started with the easy ones like bending from the waist to touch your toes. Easy peasy lol! But not all can do that. :-)

  16. Ouch! I could do at least 20 everyday for a week. 200? That's quite a lot for my knees, sis! :)

  17. I remember that doing squats make the buttocks and thighs feel firmer. This is an interesting challenge especially to those who want to be fit but not hit the gym immediately. Maybe for exercising around the house first? :-)

  18. Ooh, this is interesting! Can I do it? I was never the athletic type!

  19. I think those squats would scare me away. My knees are just not like they use to be! LOL

  22. You can probably challenge him to try out the challenges at Tribesports.

    ReplyDelete
  23. You could try the easy ones first...then level up gradually. :-)

  24. Yup, I know. That's why I had to stop doing the 200 squats challenge. At least, at Tribesports, you get to choose different challenges.

  25. Doing squats, I heard is good for the buttocks and abdomen but I think that it's kind of hard to do (lol). Anyway, I will try to visit this site and find out more from other health enthusiasts just like you, Sis. :)

  26. I checked out the Tribesports website. Full of physical challenges talaga. Funny how I started becoming more physically active in my late 30s. Being active really helps as we age. I'm going to try the lighter ones. Adding variety to my workouts. -jellybelly.

  27. I was never athletic so I admire people who are.

  28. I remember squats as one of the most difficult things I encountered in PE. I have not done it since then pero I will try again and include it in my yoga routines.

  29. Hi everyone! I've notices, a lot of your comments were concerned about squats alone. For those who have not visited the Tribesports site, I'd just like to say that there are a lot of challenges there, aside from squats. There are challenges there that could definitely be done on a regular basis as part of your fitness routine. They range from the fairly easy ones all the way to the athletic level. Anyone who's into fitness would find something interesting there to do.

  30. Somehow, the knowledge that we're ageing sends a subliminal message of wanting to stay young for longer...and doing sports or being physically active does that. I feel like a kid again when I run. :-)

  31. Tribesports is not about squats alone.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Looks like this is a good sports community. Actually I needed more squats too since I have huge thighs arh! hehe

    ReplyDelete
  33. Will check the community out. Might be a good place to start intensive workouts haha.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Wow, will check this out! :D But my biggest challenge really is disciplining myself to move!!!

  35. Reading your post reminded me of why I had to give up spinning. My knees were shot and after walking around in pain for months, I had to give up an exercise I loved... I need my knees. What other challenges did you pick up? :-)

  38. I've been following your posts and I know that I keep on saying that i will start running and keeping fit. I think I was only able to do that 2x. I still have it in me, the determination at least, to run again. I'm joining my first ever FUN RUN with officemates. I really do hope I sustain it because I need some physical activity na talaga. I'm gaining weight sobra!

  39. I really should, but I doubt I'm ready. I really have barely enough time to finish everything that needs to be done. I guess fitness exercises for now would have to be running up and down the stairs at home and walking to and from school.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'll better take one of the challenges.. I'll definitely check the website. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Interesting community. I was wondering how your did on that squats challenge. I was thinking of taking it up too.

    ReplyDelete
  42. If you mean the 200 squats challenge (not part of Tribesports), my knees gave up after 3 weeks of slowly building up the reps. I already have a left knee injury a decade ago...25 squats in one go, I can do, but not anywhere 200 lol!

  43. Idon't know if I can endure this. better relay to my hubby instead.
