NatGeo Earth Day Run 2013

NatGeo Earth Day Run

Gearing up for my next 5K running event for this month, we've chosen to register in the National Geographic Earth Day Run this coming April 28.   The run is all about promoting environment conservation.  There was no mention of beneficiaries but they did say for every runner, they will be planting 3 trees and will be tagged with the runner's name.  A tree named after me...cool.  I just wish I could indeed see those trees grow up.

It's still 23 days to countdown, so we have plenty of time to prepare for the run.  As part of our routine, we'd be running again this coming Sunday at Quirino Grandstand for maybe half an hour or so.  I hope I'd be able to wake up earlier.  It's been a bit hard for me lately, adjusting to my normal routine after taking a long break.  That's always been a struggle for most of us right?  We just like to extend our vacations to infinity if it were possible.

It's time again to get back on track and if I have to drag myself out of bed on a Sunday morning, so be it.  I am really looking forward to running again and I still wish I could do it more often.  Some people marvel at how I keep up with this running frenzy.  To be honest, it's not easy dragging yourself out from the comfort of your bed so early, specially on a weekend.  There were so many times that I would just love to curl up and sleep some more.  That is why it helps that I feel accountable to my running buddies.  If I commit to a scheduled run, the only way I would ever cancel that is if I get sick or have an injury that would prevent me from running.  If it was just me, and I never have to come up with viable excuses, I'd probably be running...in my dreams hahaha!

Would you like to join the NatGeo Earth Day Run?  There's still time to register, the last day being on the 20th of April.  See you at Bonifacio Global City!
