I've been scouting for new running shoes even before I ran my first 10K. My Adidas shoes are still working fine, but the left shoe is showing some signs of wanting to have a reliever already hehehe. It still survived my first 10K run but it may need a bit of repair already.
Last Saturday, I went with my running buddies to the BPI Swim Bike Run Expo. Yesterday was the last day of the Expo so I'm not going to post an invite anymore for obvious reasons. Anyway, when I saw that Saucony was one of the participating brands, I just had to go there and see if I could have a new pair at a marked down cost. You know us thrifty runners...we'd like to get discounts but still get good quality running gears.
So, I practically made a beeline for the Saucony booth, not caring anymore about other brands hahaha! I did my research already and based on a lot of reviews by runners, this is a good brand so I am trusting that they know what they were talking about. Check that out, 50% off!
I have yet to test the shoes. Too bad it rained hard yesterday morning. If it were just a slight drizzle, I would have ran. I love the perfect fit and it is indeed lightweight for stability shoes. Yep, I am flat footed with a slight pronation so I need shoes with ample padding and support. Usually though, they are the heavier ones. But not this pair...meet my Saucony Progrid Guide 5.
I love that the color is dark gray, even the shoelaces so that even if they get soiled, it's not a total eye sore unlike for white or light colored shoes. It has pink details but not too girly, right? At least it's not screaming pink, that would be way out of my personality. I don't like the neon or brightly colored shoes (right now...but who can say if my tastes would change with age lol!), so I totally skipped the Newton shoes aside from the fact that they are also more expensive.

I still love my Adidas and I am not ditching that...but as you can see, I am also a happy endorser of my second pair of running shoes. For a running enthusiast, it's good to test out other brands until you stick to the ONE brand, maybe for life? This photo was taken by one of the Saucony sales person, but he's not actually your ordinary salesman. He could be part owner, am not sure. But he is very knowledgeable with running and running gears, having ran 3 full marathons already. If I am not mistaken, he's a triathlete, so it's great to buy shoes from one who is well-versed with the sports. And yes, I got a good price as well. This is almost 5 thousand pesos on regular price but I bough it for PhP 2445. That's already a steal!
So anyway, Sir ( I forgot to ask your name), I borrowed your photo. You can also find this on Saucony's Official Facebook Page.

The sun is shining...so I just might test this out tomorrow. Who's up for an evening run at Ayala Triangle? See you there!
